John Baker

Survey Technician

John Baker has worked as a Survey Technician and Site Engineer in New Zealand and the United Kingdom for over thirty years.   John moved to Christchurch in 1975 and lives in Lyttleton.   He has worked on a wide range of projects including surveying on rural, urban, new developments and heavy civil engineering schemes.

John worked for two years as a Project Surveyor on the Clyde Dam and for two years at the Tiwai Point aluminium smelter in Invercargill.   In the UK John relished working on diverse projects such as the marine piling contracts, wharf reconstructions and numerous motorway systems in Scotland and in the Republic of Ireland on the Dublin Port Tunnel.   Most recently John has been a Software Application Specialist testing sophisticated survey and engineering equipment.   We welcome John to the Envivo team.

“It’s an exciting time to work in Christchurch as a Survey Technician. Using our exceptionally accurate equipment we are rediscovering the boundaries of Christchurch’s land deformation changes and providing the information needed to restore and enhance the city,” said John.
